Re ISIS pet dogs - unlikely. While dogs aren’t strictly haram, they are generally treated as haram and not in favour. Even non domestic working dogs.

seems the Russians aren’t just cheap when it comes to providing socks for their soldiers - they may not have sprung for the full communications package on their Su-24M fighters, either, and the reason they “ignored” repeated Turkish warnings they were about to get shot down was because… they couldn’t hear them
