Regarding the shortening of solar cycles - I suspect the cause is that, as a species, we have abandoned theological systems of cosmic mechanical interchange ie the cosmos is a clockwork-like system and we need to crank it to keep it going. Specifically, we need to crank it with blood sacrifice. The winter solstice is approaching in the northern hemisphere and this is perhaps a good opportunity to embrace traditional Christmas values. The holy and the ivy, the running of the deer, the colour scheme of red and white, human blood spilt on the snow to stop the days shortening and bring back the sun. And to bring back longer solar cycles.
