Apologia for Fidel was not convincing.

If speaking against the State goes against the core of a communist system, that system is far too fragile and its fragility becomes an excuse to maintain a monopoly on power.

Humans are self interested shits. A system that doesn’t have good checks and balances against that is a shitty system. Freedom to speak against the State is the most basic check.
